Usability

Usability is the quality of the system in use.

The aim of this topic is to explain a key HCI (Human–Computer Interaction) concept called usability. It is a quality of interactive computer systems that is concerned with how well the user can use a system (Nielsen, 1993). A usable system must enable the user to carry out tasks productively in their working environment, or even in everyday life. An important goal of Human Computer–Interaction is to find out how to improve the usability of systems through design. The usability of a system can be improved by adopting a user-centred approach to system design.
